Naples Dermatologist Mohs Surgeon Dr. A. Caresse Gamret Joins Genesis Dermatology
Genesis Dermatology is proud to welcome Naples dermatologist and Mohs surgeon Dr. A. Caresse Gamret, MD to our practice this September. With her exceptional training, patient-first approach, and Naples roots, Dr. Gamret brings advanced expertise in dermatology and skin cancer surgery to our community.
A Naples Native Dedicated to Excellence
Born and raised in Naples, Dr. Gamret has always been committed to excellence. She graduated as her high school’s valedictorian before earning dual bachelor’s degrees in Neuroscience and Economics at the University of Miami.
She went on to complete her medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Training and Honors
After an internal medicine internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Dr. Gamret trained at the University of Miami’s top-ranked dermatology residency program. During her final year, she served as Chief Resident of Education and was honored with both the Best Resident Teacher Award and the Best Surgical Resident Award in 2024.
To further specialize, she completed a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. There, she gained advanced experience in high-risk tumor removal, reconstructive surgery, and melanoma detection with MART-1 immunostains.
Leadership in Dermatology
An active leader in her field, Dr. Gamret has served with the American Academy of Dermatology and the Florida Academy of Dermatology, presenting her research at national medical conferences and contributing to the advancement of dermatologic care.

Now, Dr. Gamret is excited to return home to Naples as a dermatologist and Mohs surgeon at Genesis Dermatology, working alongside her mentor, Dr. Shawna Flanagan. She will provide a wide range of services, including:
- Mohs surgery for skin cancer treatment
- Advanced reconstructive dermatologic surgery
- Comprehensive medical and procedural dermatology

A Personal Touch Beyond Medicine
Outside of her practice, Dr. Gamret enjoys traveling, boating, hiking, and spending time with her two poodles, Kiwi and Kona.
