A. Caresse Gamret, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. A Naples, Florida native, she graduated as high school valedictorian before earning dual bachelor's degrees in Neuroscience and Economics from the University of Miami.
Dr. Gamret received her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Miami, a top-ten national program, after an internal medicine internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital. In her final year, she served as Chief Resident of Education and was honored with both the “Best Resident Teacher Award” and the “Best Surgical Resident Award” in 2024.
She further specialized by completing a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. There, she gained extensive experience in high-risk tumor removal, advanced reconstructive surgery, and the use of MART-1 immunostains for melanoma.
An active leader in her field, Dr. Gamret has served with the American Academy of Dermatology and the Florida Academy of Dermatology, and she presents her research at national conferences. She now practices general and procedural dermatology at Genesis Dermatology alongside her mentor, Dr. Shawna Flanagan. Outside of patient care, she enjoys traveling, boating, hiking, and spending time with her two poodles, Kiwi and Kona.
