Dysport
What Is Dysport?
Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA) is a botulinum toxin type A injectable, in the same drug family as Botox, that temporarily weakens targeted facial muscles to smooth the overlying skin. Its molecules diffuse slightly more broadly than Botox, which many injectors use to their advantage on larger, flatter areas like the forehead.
Dysport vs. Botox: What's the Difference?
Onset
Dysport often shows visible softening within 2-3 days, slightly faster than Botox for some patients
Spread
Dysport’s formulation tends to diffuse a bit more, which can suit broader areas like the forehead
Units
Dysport and Botox are dosed differently (Dysport requires more units per treatment area), so costs aren’t directly comparable unit-for-unit
Longevity
Both typically last 3-4 months, with individual variation
Treatment Areas
Forehead lines
Frown lines between the brows
Crow's feet
Preventive treatment for early dynamic lines
