What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files stored on a browser or device. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, local storage, software development kits, and session technologies. They can support website functions, security, preferences, measurement, and advertising.
Categories We May Use
- Strictly necessary: security, load balancing, form operation, consent preferences, and other functions required for the website to work.
- Functional: optional preferences or enhanced features.
- Analytics: aggregated measurement of website performance and use, configured to avoid collecting form contents or PHI.
- Advertising: campaign measurement or audience functions only where lawfully implemented and not permitted to receive PHI.
HIPAA-Sensitive Pages and Information
Genesis does not rely on a cookie banner as authorization to disclose PHI. Tracking technologies must not collect information entered into appointment, contact, patient-portal, payment, symptom, or medical forms unless the disclosure is permitted by HIPAA and all required safeguards and agreements are in place. Technologies on health-condition, treatment, scheduling, and portal pages require heightened review.
Your Choices
Where a consent control is available, you may accept or reject nonessential categories. You may also delete or block cookies through browser settings. Blocking essential technologies may prevent portions of the website from functioning. Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not uniformly supported; Genesis will honor legally required preference signals when applicable.
Third Parties
Some technologies may be provided by website hosting, security, analytics, advertising, video, mapping, scheduling, or payment vendors. Their processing is also governed by applicable contracts and privacy terms. The final published policy should name material third-party technologies after the launch configuration is verified.
Updates and Contact
We may update this policy when technologies or legal requirements change. Questions may be directed to Genesis Dermatology at (561) 296-5222 or in**@*********rm.com.
